What we publish

We welcome submissions from debut authors, young or emerging writers, and individuals whose stories reflect a deep connection to cross-cultural experience, migration, language identity, or social belonging. We are interested in:

Personal essays and memoirs
Short story collections
Poetry and hybrid forms
Educational or reflective nonfiction rooted in lived experience

We prioritize authentic voice over polish, and we believe in the value of storytelling that challenges dominant narratives and reflects the rich diversity of human experience.

your manuscript

We are currently accepting unsolicited manuscripts from emerging and debut writers whose work aligns with Blue Kite Publishing’s mission.

What to Include in Your Email:

Cover Letter (in the body of the email):
Briefly introduce yourself, your background, and why you believe your work fits with Blue Kite Publishing.
Project Overview (attached as a PDF or Word document):
A short synopsis or description of your manuscript (1 page max).
Writing Sample:
- For essays or prose: the first 10–15 pages or 1–2 full pieces
- For poetry: up to 5 poems (no more than 10 pages total)
Manuscript Format:
- File format: .docx or PDF
- Font: Times New Roman or similar serif, 12pt
- Spacing: Double-spaced for prose, single for poetry
