2026 Student Film Contest

At Blue Kite, we continue to push the boundaries of what a publishing ecosystem can be. We believe stories unfold not only across pages, but also through music, conversation, and—of course—film.

When this expansion meets our mission, new possibilities emerge: through a range of creative media, we elevate stories of culture, identity, and belonging.

This next chapter begins today with the launch of the 2026 Blue Kite Student Film Contest.

This year’s theme is “Where I Belong.”

Belonging can take many forms: a neighborhood, a shared language, a memory carried across places. We look forward to seeing how students explore belonging through a medium uniquely capable of holding many stories at once.
